Located just 30 kilometres west of Lisbon is the idyllic seaside town of Cascais. Technically, Cascais is a cosmopolitan suburb of Lisbon given the short commute, but in all honesty, it felt like we were worlds away.
This former fishing village gained popularity in the late-19th century when the Spanish royal family decided to set up their resort home in the area. Nowadays, in addition to being a cosmopolitan suburb of Lisbon, Cascais is a popular vacation destination for tourists, both foreign and domestic.
And, it’s easy to see why. With palm trees, stunning beaches, and amazing views, Cascais is a little slice of paradise.
