My Travel Bucket List: Bratislava

My Travel Bucket List: Bratislava [PetiteAdventures.org]

Continuing with sharing my travel hopes and dreams for our current Central European trip, I thought I would share my Travel Bucket List for Bratislava. In reality, we’ll be spending just close to 24 hours in the city, so this list is really much more of a wishlist than a bucket list. But either way, here are they are…

Top Ten Things I’m Excited to See, Do and Eat:

Explore the Old Town

sample local beers

Sample some of the best beer in town at Bratislavsky mestiansky pivovar, a brewery located just out of the old town — or another brewery, I’m not too picky.

bronze statues

See the different bronze statues dotted throughout the city, including Cumil, Napolean and more.

Explore Bratislava Castle (Hrad)

Try Horalky

Horalky is a traditional Slovakian sweet wafer, and I can’t wait to try it!

St. Elizabeth’s / The Little Blue Church

Described as an art noveau fantasy, the church is dressed in various shades of blues. It’s said to be a little hard to find, but should we come across it I would be most pleased.

Lounge by the Danube River

Or take a river cruise, I would be okay with either.

See Primate’s Palace

Primate’s Palace is described as one of the most beautiful in Bratislava

Climb Up to Novy Most Bridge’s Observation Deck.

Apparently the view from the observation deck is spectacular. Our bus is scheduled to drop us off close by, so I’m trying to convince the boys that this should be our first stop!

Try Bryndzove halusky

In all honesty, these sheep cheese dumplings don’t look the most appetizing, but I’m really intrigued to sample this traditional Slovakian dish. Because really, if not in Bratislava then where?

Have I missed anything? What would you recommend I add to my list?
