Hello from Canada!
As I mentioned in my last monthly update, we’re back home in Canada exploring Toronto, Ottawa and a few cities in between while we catch up with friends and family. We’ve been home for just two weeks, but I’m not going to lie to you, it’s been great!
We’ve relaxed, we’ve laughed, we’ve chatted, and we’ve eaten. Boy oh boy have we been eating.
As I said, it’s been great.
And while I’ve obviously loved the family and friends time the most, there are a few other things I’ve been enjoying:
Converting from Euros to Dollars. Sometimes you don’t even realise you’re doing it, but while living abroad you convert everything. Every purchase, every meal, everything would get converted. I’ve caught myself trying to convert a few purchases since we’ve been back; some habits are just hard to shake.
The Food. Nothing against Spanish food, but it has been so nice to be back home and not eating jamón.
Eavesdropping. I mean this in the best, least malicious way possible, but I really missed being able to understand the conversations that were going on around me. It’s nice to overhear tidbits of gossip, pieces of news and what not.
It’s good to be back.
