A Year of Living Swedishly

A Year of Living Swedishly [petiteadventures.org]

Last Thursday, after exactly 12 and a half months, we packed our bags, said goodbye to Leeds and embarked on the next phase of our adventure: A year of living Swedishly.

This move has been a long time coming. We knew before we even set foot in Leeds that after approx a year we’d be relocating to Stockholm where Dave would complete his research. At the time of that move, and for the months and weeks that followed, it felt so far away; a moment that would never actually come.

But it has. And it is surreal.

Even now, as I sit at the kitchen table in our new flat, I’m shocked that it’s actually happened: We’re officially Stockholmers and have been for nearly a week now.

We’ve spent the last few days getting to know our new neighbourhood, exploring the borough and nearby nature reserve; navigating the grocery store, full of new and confusing treats; and, overall, easing ourselves into Swedish life.

So far, it’s been amazing!

I’m excited for all the adventures and opportunities living in Sweden will bring us. This year has the potential to be nothing short of unforgettable, full of new adventures, new friends, new foods, and a brand new language.

Here’s to our year of living Swedishly!

It’s so nice to have you blogging again. I missed them when you were so busy. I am sure your stay in Sweden will be most memorable and we look forward to visiting you and David.
