Despite knowing better, nine times out of 10 I start and end my day by scrolling through my Instagram feed. I know I shouldn’t, but I do, and I love it.
While my carefully curated feed is full of beautiful images that fuel my wanderlust (this is both good and bad: good for my imagination and my insatiable need to make lists, bad for my bank account) there are always a few who stand out. If you’re looking for travel inspiration and aspiration, I suggest you check out any of the below:
Young Adventurous is an American living in New Zealand and her beautiful images will make you want to hop on a plane immediately. Her recent adventures in Alberta, Canada are so wonderful that they could turn any beach-loving nomad into a serious snow bunny.
Adventurous Kate’s Instagram feed is seriously covetable. Full of colour, exotic locations, and often captioned with hilarious anecdotes, Kate’s instagram account will make you want to buy a plane ticket anywhere.
Former lawyer, Jodi, is eating and writing her way around the world, and as an Instagram follower you get a front row seat. The perfect mix of beautiful travel locations and drool worthy foods, Legal Nomads brings it all together and emphasizes more delicious side of travel.
Very excited to share this new post with you called How to Eat Street Food Without Getting Sick. After years and years of stuffing my face around the world, I realized I had written a book about doing so safely, but never a post. Now I have fixed that oversight. 🍜 💛 Link in my profile! The post gives tips for eating street food safely and encourages people to give it a try, because it's a kitchen you can SEE and gauge before you buy, but also because I firmly believe it's one of the most important ways you can learn about a new place. Hope you find it useful!
Never Ending Footsteps
A full-time traveler, Lauren’s Instagram feed is full of colour, amazing sunsets, and the most incredible reflection images I’ve ever seen. It’s hard not to be inspired by looking at her feed, no matter what time of day.
Victoria aka: VickyFlipFlop’s feed is so much fun! From skiing in Italy to sipping cocktails in Scotland, Vicky looks like she’s having the most amazing time, no matter what she’s doing.
Matt Long, the writer/photographer behind LandLopers is one seriously talented man. His photos are so beautifully shot he makes everything look magical. He also has an affinity for taking birds eye view shots of cities, which I can’t get enough of.
As the owner of three Siberian Huskies it's always with mixed feelings that I approach dog sled experiences. On the one hand I love being around dogs almost more than anything else but part of me worries about whether or not the experience is an ethical one. With dog sledding the only real way to know is by visiting and almost right away I knew that Valentijne Beets' company Bear Hill Husky was the real deal – no one cares THAT much about their dogs if they don't treat them well. Located right outside of Roveniemi, Bear Hill has dozens of Alaskan Huskies in their kennel and it was 5 of these hard working dogs that took me out into the chilly woods of Finnish Lapland today. I love dog sledding because of how quiet it is. Mushing through the snow, the dogs clearly love running more than anything else and the only noise is their fierce panting. It's a beautiful way to be a part of nature without loud motors or anything else around. It's also one of the best ways to experience the amazing landscapes in northern Finland without leaving a trace. #nbeFinland
